Monsoon is about to end now, and Matheran and surrounding area are greener than ever. That’s why, City Next Door decided to trek to Garbett Plateau, which is one of the most beautiful treks in Matheran Range. This small and easy trek through the dense forest will lead you to an amazing 360-degree view of the entire Matheran range from top. On descending trek to Diksal village, light rain and chill breeze will make your trek easy and memorable and will give you a chance to visit the picturesque Dhome lake.

Day One

Catch 6.10 am CSMT- Karjat train from your nearest railway station.

08.00 am: Meet everyone at Neral Station and have breakfast.

08.45 am: Start the journey towards Matheran by private vehicle.

09.15 am: Start trek to Garbett Plateau.

10.30 am: Reach Garbett Plateau.

11.00 am: Start descending Garbett Plateau.

01.30 pm: Reach Diksal village and take Lunch.

02.30 pm: Reach Bhivpuri Road Station to catch a train.


  • Transport by Private Non Ac Vehicle (Neral to Matheran)
  • Food: Breakfast & Lunch
  • Expertise Charges
  • Any personal expenses such as soft drinks etc.
  • Anything other than above-mentioned inclusion.

Tour's Location


Things you need to carry - for monsoon
1. At least 1 L water (u can carry extra if u can)
2. Windcheater/ Poncho/ Raincoat (do not carry umbrella)
3. Good trekking shoes (do not buy a new one)
4. Rucksack (do not use sling bag)
5. Extra pair of clothes (wear full sleeve clothes)
6. Dry snacks
7. Electrol Powder or Enerzal to boost your energy (do not carry Tang or Glucon D)
8. A camera on your own responsibility
9. Any personal medications if u have
