Sarasgad fort is located in a village near Pali. Pali which is more popularly known for the one of the eight Ashtavinayak Ganpati, Shri Ballaleshwar Ashtavinayak. Pali is about 10 km east of Nagothane on the Nagothane – Khopoli road. Sarasgad fort can be easily identified by its four pinnacles and was used as a watch place to keep an eye on the surrounding region and hence of great importance. Sarasgad isalso called Pagadicha killa because its shape resembles Puneri Pagadi. The fort was bought by Shivaji Maharaj under hindavi swarajya and he later reconstructed it. Sarasgad was never conquered or destroyed by British armyand up until independence it was under Bhor Sansthan. There are two ways which leads to the top of the fort, one from the north and other from the south. The north way up being a little easy and with gradual inclination. Towards the end whoever one must watch out for the huge rock steps, not so difficult because of their height, but because of its steep inclination. There is a Shiv temple on top of the fort .Sarasgad in one of the twin fort of Sudhagad. From the top, Sudhagad and TailBaila can easily be spotted.
